You can hear them
without handing them the wheel
you can love them
without becoming
the road beneath their feet
their disappointment
may fall like rain
without becoming your storm
their expectations
may point toward every horizon
but they are not your north
so let them speak
let the silence answer
you can remain tender
without bending
you can say no
without turning to stone
and when someone says
this is the way
release the wheel
let the compass tremble
let every borrowed direction
fall away
until one quiet needle
finds its truth
and points
home to you

Let the old stars fall from the sky
when their light has finished its journey
to mistake their fading
for the end of the night
would be a lost world
there are constellations within you
that have waited in silence
to be remembered
walk gently toward what calls you
some paths disappear
because they have already taught you
where not to return
edit the life
but not the soul
keep what is true
pause before answering the wound
as if it were the present moment
not every old fear
deserves a new decision
build a life that works
without forgetting why it matters
and love
love
let it be like moonlight on still water
a light that reveals
some souls meet like comets
burning brightly across one another’s skies
some remain like stars
distant and constant
quietly changing the shape of the darkness
trust what remains after the storm
trust the silence that no longer frightens you
trust the small light
that keeps returning at dawn
for life is not asking you
to become someone else
it is asking you
to shed what is no longer true
and the hidden constellation
within you
feels like home

Sometimes the heart aches
even when the soul has chosen rightly
not every sorrow is regret
some sadness is simply the old self
learning to let go
and somewhere between
the trembling and the truth
something quietly transforms
a boundary becomes a doorway
a no becomes a blessing
and the heart discovers
that it can remain soft
without leaving itself behind
sometimes the most beautiful magic
is simply this
to choose the truth
and still keep love in the heart

To be here
to turn what has been given
into something that matters
to make meaning from loss
wisdom from experience
and light from what once felt dark
to become more fully ourselves
without forgetting one another
to take what is fragile and passing
and
for a little while
to be here to become
who we were quietly becoming
all along
not by leaving the world behind
but by giving something of ourselves to it
perhaps this is the mystery
we are not here
to keep what we are given
we are here
to transform it
and leave behind
a little more beauty
than we found
that makes being here
all the more worthwhile
