You do not have to drag
the old weight into the new day
let your hands open
let the names you were given
the promises you outgrew
the rooms where you made yourself smaller
fall quietly behind you
you do not need to burn them
you do not need to forgive them all
you do not even need to understand
why you carried them so long
simply stop carrying them
what leaves you
does not take your life with it
it makes space
and in that space
something has been waiting
for you
to finally become
unburdened enough
to hear yourself
so let it fall
everything that was never yours
everything you carried
out of love
out of fear
out of habit
let it meet the earth
then walk on
do not reach back for what you released
some doors are not meant
to be closed behind you
they are meant
to disappear from the landscape
until one day
you realize
you have walked so far into your freedom
you can no longer remember
why you ever turned back
